CHEVRON BRIGHT-CUT® METALWORKING FLUIDS NHG, NM, AM, AH are a complete line of chlorine-free cutting oils that offer benefits not found in conventional cutting oils. The unique synthetic antiweld components replace the chlorine and reduce the amount of sulfur and fat typically needed for difficult cutting operations. They are light in color, for improved visibility during machining, and low in odor. Chevron Bright-Cut Metalworking Fluids formulated with ISO SYN base stocks provide increased oil life and a safer work environment by increasing the fluid’s flash point, and lowering exposure to aromatics and product vapor, smoking, and misting. Do not use Chevron Bright-Cut Metalworking Fluids in high pressure systems in the vicinity of flames, sparks and hot surfaces. Use only in well ventilated areas. Keep container closed. The severity of the machining operation and the machinability of the metal are the criteria for selecting the proper cutting oil. Chevron Bright-Cut NHG Metalworking Fluid • Service Classification: Honing/Grinding, Nonstaining • A low viscosity cutting oil that is designed for use in light duty machining or honing and grinding operations on ferrous and nonferrous metals, particularly aluminum, magnesium and their alloys. It can also be mixed with other Chevron Bright-Cut and Chevron Elite-Cut® Metalworking Fluids to adjust their compounding to meet the demands of a specific machining operation. Chevron Bright-Cut NM Metalworking Fluid • Service Classification: Medium Duty, Nonstaining • The workhorse tri-purpose cutting oil, suitable for automatic screw machine operations on freemachining to intermediate steels, and intermediate to difficult nonferrous metals. 
CHEVRON CLEARTEX® D, E are transparent, light colored, chlorinated cutting oils. The EP compounding in Chevron Cleartex cutting oils is nonstaining to yellow metals, provides long tool life and allows for faster machine rates.  Chevron Cleartex cutting oils can be used as the cutting oil, hydraulic oil and machine lubricant in automatic screw machines. This eliminates the contamination problem caused by leakage of these fluids into the cutting oil, reducing cutting oil effectiveness. Chevron Cleartex cutting oils are effective at providing rust and corrosion protection of parts, cutting tools and the machine. Chevron Cleartex cutting oils are formulated with paraffinic base stocks with a naturally high viscosity index. These cutting oils have high flash points, minimizing the potential for fire. They also contain an effective mist control agent that reduces stray mist around the machine. This improves shop cleanliness and reduces operator exposure to the cutting oil. Chevron Cleartex metalworking fluids: • provide excellent cooling and lubrication in a wide range of machining operations. • prevent welding of chip and tool. • flush chips away from the work area. • protect the finished work surfaces, tools and machines against rusting and staining. • dramatically reduce oil mist in high speed machine tools. Chevron Cleartex D and E are intended for use as general purpose cutting oils where the machining requirements range from light to moderately severe. They are recommended for the machining operations on free-machining to intermediate steels and difficult to machine nonferrous metals. Chevron Cleartex E is also recommended where a higher viscosity product would be preferred for the machining or hydraulic application. Chevron Cleartex cutting oils are widely used in automatic screw machines and NC/CNC machiningcenters. The tri-purpose nature of Chevron Cleartex cutting oils allows the user to minimize inventories of other fluids. Do not use Chevron Cleartex cutting oils in high pressure systems in the vicinity of flames, sparks and hot surfaces. Use only in well ventilated areas. Keep container closed. 
CHEVRON QUENCHING OIL 70 is a premium quality quenching oil. It is designed to provide controlled cooling of steel which is important in steel hardening. When quenching is started, Chevron Quenching Oil 70 provides a high initial cooling rate inducing maximum hardness, yet once the critical transformation temperature is passed, the ideal fluid cooling rate decreases to eliminate the possibility of stresses and metal distortion. Chevron Quenching Oil 70 is recommended for use • when deep and uniform hardening is required in steels having small grain size or wide variation in grain size • in steels with lean alloy content • in parts having variable sections or odd shapes • in steels having variable hardenability This highly stable oil resists the oxidizing effects of quenching and is less sensitive to the effects of agitation. It is highly heat resistant. No additive replacement is required and, in normal service, the product retains the original viscosity indefinitely. Because of its ability to adhere to smooth or shiny surfaces, Chevron Quenching Oil 70 is also recommended for use when parts must retain a bright finish. 
CHEVRON SOLUBLE OIL B is used broadly in machine shops as a multifunctional cutting fluid. It is primarily designed to cool and lubricate the contact point of the tool and the work piece. Chevron Soluble Oil B: • helps prevent rusting or corrosion of the machined metals • helps control the growth of bacteria — which is a constant problem in soluble oil circulating systems due to outside contamination • minimizes surface foam • speeds the release of entrained air which could cause pump cavitation This is an extremely versatile fluid designed to meet many of the situations encountered in the metalworking industry. Chevron Soluble Oil B is an emulsifying oil that readily mixes with water, forming a homogeneous and exceptionally stable emulsion. It is used in the machining of both ferrous and nonferrous metals, particularly when cutting with carbon or high speed steel or tungsten carbide tools. It contains an effective biocide that combats bacterial growth, rancidity, and odor in machine sumps. Chevron Soluble Oil B is recommended for all metals (except magnesium) where maximum cooling is desired — particularly when cutting with carbon, high speed steel, or tungsten carbide tools. Chevron Soluble Oil B is used extensively in milling, drilling, gear cutting, turning, planing, shaping, sawing, and grinding operations. Chevron Soluble Oil B is typically diluted in water/oil ratios ranging from 10:1 to 50:1. See the Chevron Soluble Oil Mixing Recommendations chart for the proper water/oil ratio for each application. Always add oil to water to avoid forming sticky invert emulsions that do not emulsify properly in water. Chevron Soluble Oil B provides excellent in-process corrosion protection. Use of this product as a metal protective fluid for short-term rust protection is not recommended. Do not recommend Chevron Soluble Oil B emulsions for operations involving magnesium. Hot magnesium is a fire hazard when it contacts water. The preferred recommendation is Chevron Utility Oil LVI ISO 22. Emulsions of soluble metalworking fluids and water may become contaminated with harmful microorganisms such as bacteria and fungus, which can cause illness and infection. This can occur even in emulsions with fluids that initially contain some biocide because the biocide can be depleted during service. CHEVRON TRANSULTEX ® D,F,H are transparent, light color, low odor cutting oils containing chlorine and active sulfur. The product line varies in viscosity and EP level to cover the widest range of machining operations and conditions. Chevron Transultex cutting oils contain effective antiweld additives that react at the chip-tool interface to form boundary lubricating films that reduce frictional heat and prevent welding of the tool and workpiece. With the exception of Chevron Transultex D, the Chevron Transultex line of cutting oils contains fatty oil lubricity additives that provide better surface finish. Chevron Transultex cuttin Chevron Transultex cutting oils vary in viscosity and compounding levels to cover a wide range of machining operations and conditions. Chevron Transultex D is recommended for a wide variety of moderate to severe machining operations. Transultex D contains no fatty oil and is particularly useful in operations where surface finish is not critical. Transultex D is also recommended for more severe grinding applications where products containing fat could result in loading of the grinding wheel. Chevron Transultex F is recommended for a wide variety of moderate to severe machining operations where surface finish of the workpiece is important. Transultex F is particularly useful in form grinding applications and in deep hole drilling operations on difficult to machine metals and alloys. Chevron Transultex H has the highest level of EP compounding and is recommended for the most severe cutting operations on the most difficult metals and alloys. Chevron Transultex cutting oils contain active sulfur that is staining to yellow metals. Chevron Transultex cutting oils should not be used to machine copper and its alloys.
