COMPATIBILITY ( BE SURE TO CONSULT WITH CHEVRON REPRESENTATIVE BEFORE REPLACING EXISTING GREASE)
The statement that two greases are compatible means only that mixtures of the two do not soften excessively or
lose heat resistance to an unacceptable degree. The statement that two greases are compatible does not imply equivalence of the two greases in overall lubrication performance. Therefore, the statement that two greases are compatible offers no information about the performance of mixtures with regard to load carrying ability, rust prevention, wear prevention or any other measurable aspect of grease performance. Reported test results are not based on ASTM D 6185 but are instead based on this Chevron proprietary test method. Compatibility testing done on fresh products does not necessarily predict compatibility results for combinations of fresh and used products.
When changing lubricants, it is essential that all equipment manufacturer procedures be followed, including drain
and flush requirements. For further information, contact LUBE TEK at 1-800-LUBE-TEK (1-800-582-3835) or email@example.com. Resources Chevron Lubricants Technical Bulletin LTB-6 “Grease Compatibility and Grease Lubrication Practices.

CHEVRON DELO® SYNTHETIC GREASE SF is a high performance grease specifically engineered for trailer wheel-ends operating in all conditions, even under the most extreme high and low temperatures, and for those demanding applications requiring extended lubrication intervals. It is manufactured using polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic base oil, a polyurea thickener, rust and oxidation inhibitors, extreme pressure additives, and a special combination of friction reducing agents. It is gold in color with a smooth, semifluid texture. Chevron Delo Synthetic Grease SF is formulated to
perform in unusually demanding conditions of high and low temperatures. The polyurea thickener in Chevron Delo Synthetic Grease SF elevates the dropping point to 250°C (482°F). This high dropping point equates to excellent high temperature stability up to 190°C (375°F). In addition, the high viscosity index (VI) of the PAO synthetic base oil allows for excellent flow properties at low temperatures - allowing Chevron Delo Synthetic Grease SF to operate at temperatures as low as -45°C (-50°F).
APPLICATIONS Trailer lubrication — Chevron Delo Synthetic Grease SF is recommended for use in trailer axles. It flows smoothly and evenly at temperatures as low as -45°C (-50°F) and continues to lubricate efficiently at temperatures up to 190°C (375°F). It provides many advantages in trailer axle lubrication, compared to mineral oil-based grease, such as • Excellent low temperature properties (i.e. lower starting torque). • Oxidation resistance at high temperatures. • Low incidence of seal leakage through use of a grease as compared with the conventional SAE 80W- 90 gear oil. • Excellent antiwear/low friction performance throughout the operating temperature range. Industrial lubrication — Chevron Delo Synthetic Grease SF lubricates yearlong under the most severe operating conditions. Along with wide temperature range performance, Chevron Delo Synthetic Grease SF provides excellent industrial equipment lubrication with a special blend of additives, including organo-moly, to help resist oxidation, protect against rust, enhance antiwear properties and ensure long lubricating life under conditions of extreme pressure and temperature. Field tests showed Chevron Delo Synthetic Grease SF to be particularly effective in industrial gear lubrication.
CHEVRON MOLY GREASES EP NLGI 1, 2 are general purpose, extreme pressure (EP) greases. They are manufactured using highly refined selected base oils, a lithium-12-hydroxystearate thickener, 3% molybdenum disulfide (moly), EP additive, rust and oxidation inhibitors. They are dark gray/black in color and smooth and buttery in texture. These products satisfy the demand for high quality moly-type greases with extreme pressure capability in both automotive and industrial applications. Chevron Moly Greases EP provide excellent performance under extreme pressure, boundary lubrication conditions because of their EP additive and moly content. With a Timken OK Load (ASTM D 2509) of 50 lbs and moly to maintain a low coefficient of friction along sliding surfaces, even under loads exceeding the yield strengths of metals, Chevron Moly Greases EP provide both shock and heavy load protection. Moly provides a lubricity safety factor (staying power) in situations where the grease is depleted and only molybdenum disulfide remains to provide lubrication until more grease is applied.
APPLICATIONS Chevron Moly Greases EP are recommended for use in automotive and industrial equipment where a moly type grease is called for. Typical applications in automotive equipment are: chassis, bearings, universal joints, fifth wheels, and ball joints in construction equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, loaders, shovels, etc. Chevron Moly Greases EP are recommended for use in roller chains, trunions, gears, cables, sheaves, slides, and chassis bearings. In industrial applications, these greases are recommended for the lubrication of conveyor bearings, sliding and rubbing surfaces, kiln car bearings, etc. They are particularly suited for heavily loaded pivot pins, splined shafts, or other surfaces subjected to sliding, vibration, or oscillation where fretting is encountered. Chevron Moly Greases EP meet Caterpillar recommendations for greases containing 3%
